Fourth farmer training: micro-nutrients and preventing deficiencies

AgriPlus+ farmer training slide explaining how iron keeps young leaves green, how to identify iron deficiency and how to improve fertilisation

On 17 September 2026, AgriPlus+ held its fourth farmer training, led by agronomist Florin Clinciu. The session focused on micro-nutrients — iron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper and others — how to recognise deficiency symptoms and, above all, how to prevent them. A central idea was Liebig's Law of the Minimum: a crop's yield is held back by whatever nutrient is scarcest, even though micro-nutrients are needed only in tiny amounts. Agronomists then worked through each farm's soil data to give targeted, farm-by-farm advice, and looked ahead to preparing the soil for next season — disinfection, green manure, restoring beneficial soil microbes and getting irrigation timing right. Farmers also discussed market conditions and how working together could strengthen their position with buyers. The next session will focus on soil preparation, spring irrigation and early-season disease prevention.
